The Municipal Construction Bureau proposed that in the first three years of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, 20% of new residential buildings will adopt solar water heating systems.


As a city with a long light period and rich solar heat, Shenzhen promotes the application of solar energy technology to become the title of the development of circular economy. All along, the Municipal Construction Bureau is committed to the advancement of this work, and the application of solar energy is also increasing. For example, Baoan District High School and Shenzhen Eye Hospital have adopted a solar centralized hot water supply system. The photovoltaic grid-connected power generation system of Yuanbo Park also works well. In view of Shenzhen's good foundation for solar energy industry and application, Shenzhen has become an alternative model city for the national “scale application of solar energy integration integration”. Currently, 19 projects are actively applying for national solar energy demonstration projects. In the first three years of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, the city will build 10 solar-powered grid-connected power generation demonstration projects; in the next two years, 50% of new buildings will use solar thermal systems; 20% of new buildings will use solar photovoltaic grid-connected systems.
